This blogging thing

Playing~"End of time (remix)"-JT & B

You know, blogging is a tricky thing. You get a chance to share your thoughts and ideals with a diverse group of people who may not be represented in your current reference group. It definitely can be therapeutic when you are confused or aggravated with a particular situation. However, blogging really can cause things to be lost in translation. It’s a one way communication device, which leads to a lot of misunderstanding. People read something that you wrote and get some completely different than what you intended to communicate. Often times we are just telling a story without a lot of background, which can be misrepresenting of the circumstance your writing about. Has anyone posted something and read some of the comments are wondered “how did they come to that conclusion?”

All the time...what I love best though is it teaches me two things:
1. A whole slew of perspectives on my issues - most neutral since they don't know me from a can of paint.
2. That I need to tailor what I say so that I am more clearly understood; that is, that I leave less room to be misunderstood.
In the end, I appreciate that folks even take the time. Strangers can say the darndest things...LOL

Oh that happens all the time! Not just on a blog either.

Yeah, things definately get lost in translation. I don't feel bad most times that happens because I know what I meant. I try to make things clear as crystal but sometimes I'm still misunderstood. It's still all good though.

Of course, I have to dismiss it at times because people simply don't comprehend and I can't teach common sense or structured thinking.

Nope...never had anything misunderstood here...Know why? 'cause I'm the bomb diggiddy. That's why. LOL. People read into stuff whatever they want to, no matter how clear and concise you are. That is jus tthe natrue of the beast. I'm good with it. Any conversation is good conversation.

Yeah, I get that with my art as well....My thing is that what you get from what I write or paint says more about you than it does about me. If gives me a little insight into how the other person thinks. So, in my mind it's a give and take. Take care.

Yeah...but some people read what they wanna read and have an agenda anyhow. So all we can do is write what we feel and the best way we know...most people get it...those that don't...well, they'll be aiight.

I think that in blogland, we sometimes hold back facts and notes because we don't want to be judged (just like in life). That's when the misinterpretation sneaks it's way in.

lol, yes... sometimes u get lectures coming in very long emails when all you did was posting lyrics to a song, or people read a post waayyyyy to fast and get to hilarious conclusions.

it's funny, it's all part of the experience i guess
